RFID / NFC Module (RC522)

The RFID / NFC Module is a contactless identification device used in IoT and robotics applications. It uses electromagnetic fields to read tags and cards — making it ideal for access control, attendance systems, and automation projects.

How It Works?

The module communicates via the SPI protocol with a microcontroller (like Arduino or ESP32). When an RFID tag or card is brought near the antenna, it transfers a unique ID that the system can verify, log, or act upon.

Key Features

  • Supports 13.56 MHz RFID/NFC frequency
  • Reads MIFARE and other compatible cards
  • SPI interface for fast communication
  • Compact, easy to integrate with Arduino
  • Low power, ideal for embedded systems

Applications of RFID / NFC Module

RFID and NFC modules are widely used for security, automation, and smart systems.

Access Control

Used for door locks and secure entry systems with RFID cards.

Attendance Systems

Automates employee or student attendance tracking.

Robotics

Identifies components or triggers robot actions via tags.

Inventory Systems

Tracks items and assets in smart warehouses or IoT setups.
