Fingerprint Sensor

The Fingerprint Sensor Module (such as R307 or AS608) is a biometric device used for fingerprint recognition and access control. It stores and matches fingerprints for secure authentication, commonly found in attendance systems, door locks, and identity-based robotics projects.

Working Principle

This module uses an optical sensing technique to capture the fingerprint image and compare it with the stored templates. The onboard DSP processor handles image processing, feature extraction, and matching in real time.

  • Operating Voltage: 3.6V – 6V
  • Interface: UART (TX/RX)
  • Stores up to 162 fingerprints
  • High accuracy and fast response
  • Low false acceptance and rejection rates

Applications in Robotics

Fingerprint sensors are used for secure access, human interaction, and biometric systems in robotics.

Access Control

Used in smart doors or lockers for secure entry.

Attendance Systems

Tracks attendance with biometric authentication.

Security Robots

Grants access only to authorized users.

Human-Interaction Robots

Recognizes users to personalize robot responses.
